Why It Matters

Writing is a personal journey, weaving the writer’s beliefs, thoughts, perceptions, feelings, and knowledge into printed words. The written word is founded on one’s oral language, turning the spoken sounds into symbols which carry meaning (Bretzmann, 2018).

Beyond this personal influence, two main elements impact the author and his or her written work: the Writing Process and Writing Elements.

What about grammar? Grammar is the foundational structure of a language. When a language is spoken or written in a format that is appropriate, for that specific language, meaning and clarity of the message is emphasized.
