Papier-Mâché
Ingredients
2 cups of cold water
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
Newspaper, cut into strips that measure about 1x15 inches
Paint (if desired)
Directions
Mix water and flour in large bowl with wire whisk until smooth. Mixture should be the same thickness as heavy cream.
Coat a mold with one layer of newspaper strips which have been dipped in water.
Molded clay or an inflated balloon makes a good mold.
Then dip strips in flour mixture and lay over first layer of strips until mold is well coated.
Let stand until strips on mold are dry and hard.
Paint over the strips if desired.
